Intro
Getting ready to plan a magical trip to the stunning Oregon Coast? Well let me add another layer to your excitement when I tell you that not only are you visiting the Oregon Coast, but you can also rent cabins super close to the ocean! When traveling, finding relaxing, unique and affordable stays are always the cherry on top with having a jam-packed adventurous itinerary to look forward to.
These cabins you reserve through Oregon State Parks. In my opinion, Oregon state parks are super underrated. Not only are they ideal for types of outdoor recreation but they also have tent and RV sites for camping as well as yurts and cabins that you can reserve. There are around 255 state parks scattered all throughout the state and there are plenty of them located around the Oregon Coast. If you are interested in all of the state parks that offer cabin rentals, I have an article about that that you can read here.
Reserving a cabin in an Oregon state park is a great way to not only save hundreds of dollars on lodging but to also experience a quieter and more scenic trip. They are not “fancy” but they are cute, quaint and get the job done. These are cabins where you will need to bring your own bedding and cooking supplies. It may not be super ideal for you if you’re flying into Oregon but to me, they are more comfortable than a Motel 6 and at least you get some peace and quiet. Before I get into the cabin rentals, there is some information that is good for you to know before you book:

What To Know
Reservations
You must make a reservation to get a cabin. All reservations are made through either the website oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com or by calling 800-452-5687. Cabin rentals in Oregon state parks are very popular, so you will want to make your reservation as soon as you know when you will be traveling. Especially when some of these parks only have a handful of cabins.
Rates
The price of renting a rustic cabin in an Oregon state park ranges between $42 and $62 per night and $81-$99 per night for a deluxe cabin. Now you may be wondering, what’s the difference?
Rustic Cabin vs. Deluxe Cabin Rental
When renting a rustic cabin, these are some of the features and amenities:
- Rustic cabins can be one room or two. One-room cabins sleep 4-5; two-room cabins sleep 5-6
- Beds are a combination of bunk beds, futon couch or double bed, each with a vinyl mattress. You will definitely want to bring your own bedding and if needed for extra comfort, possibly a mattress topper.
- They come with a table and two chairs
- Door with a lock, electricity, heat and lights.
- You will be using the shared campground restroom and showers which are usually a short walk away. These cabins *do not* come with a private restroom or shower.
- Cooking is not allowed inside the cabins; some have an outside propane stove including the propane located on the porch. To be safe, always double check your reservation
Choosing a deluxe cabin offers the same amenities as the ones listed above along with some additional creature comforts. Depending on where you reserve, your deluxe cabin might also include:
- Private bathroom and shower
- Kitchenette with a fridge and microwave
- Propane/electric barbeque grills
- TV with a DVD player
Additional Information
- Indoor cooking is only permitted inside deluxe yurts and deluxe cabins, and only with the provided microwave. No outside appliances allowed. Cooking utensils are not provided.
- Pets are allowed only inside pet-friendly cabins.
- No smoking in any facilities.
- You must be 18 or older to rent these units.
- Parking for one vehicle is included with each reservation. Most parks allow one extra vehicle for an additional daily fee (paid at park).
- Any damages will be the responsibility of the reservation holder.
- Some parks have ADA accessibility cabins available! Check before you reserve.

I would recommend that you reserve a cabin sooner than later. With some parks only offering a small number of cabins, it can be really challenging to find availability for the dates you need. Especially if you plan on visiting during the summer.
Regardless, I hope that you see some potential in getting an Oregon Coast cabin rental through one of the state parks. They have lots of amenities to offer. Some parks offer more than others, but these parks are a great way to enjoy a more natural Oregon landscape and what better way to enjoy the Oregon Coast than to actually be right by it? Nothing beats being able to hear the ocean waves at night as you’re about to fall asleep.
